Governance has been changing rapidly in recent years and is no longer as optional as it used to be. Due to the extra media attention surrounding transparency and the emphasis on good governance, interest in supervision has increased. In the cultural sector, the application of the Governance Code for Culture has gained more weight. The Code was already a subsidy requirement for most financiers, but the Governance Code for Culture, updated in 2019, requires more explanation from organisations with ‘comply and explain’ on how they shape management and supervision. The complexity of governance in the cultural sector is also increasing. For this reason, the course ‘Governance in the Cultural Sector’ was developed.
Being well informed and well prepared ensures that you as a supervisor know what issues you can be confronted with in a cultural institution, what you should pay attention to and what attitude contributes to an effectively functioning council. In short, a certain substantive knowledge of good governance issues with specific attention to the cultural sector provides a good basis.
‘Governance in the Cultural Sector’ consists of four modules of two half-days each and is a collaboration between crmLINK and the knowledge platform Cultuur+Ondernemen.
The modules take place during the afternoon (starting times between 14:00 and 15:30) until the evening (concluding at the latest 21:30). All modules take place live at an appealing location in Amsterdam (easily accessible by both car and public transport). Are you coming from far away? It is possible to stay overnight at this location.
The fee for participation is € 2,690, including materials and catering, excluding VAT. Payment in installments is possible, please ask us about the possibilities.
