The Integrity Chamber Sint Maarten (hereinafter Integrity Chamber) was formally established by law in 2018 and is an independent administrative body (ZBO) that aims to promote the integrity within the country. The Integrity Chamber Sint Maarten (hereinafter Integrity Chamber) was formally established by law in 2018 and is now embedded in the administrative field of Sint Maarten. The Integrity Chamber is a modern institution in a young country. The Integrity Chamber is an independent administrative body (ZBO) that aims to promote the integrity within the country. Its purpose is to contribute to the proper functioning of the public administration. The core tasks of the Integrity Chamber are (a) to advise and make proposals, (b) to investigate suspected wrongdoing, and (c) to provide ongoing education on integrity.
The Integrity Chamber consists of three members, including a President. The members work part-time (0.5 FTE). One week per calendar month, the Integrity Chamber meets for five working days. Meetings take place every other month at the Integrity Chamber office in Sint Maarten, the other month meetings are held remotely. The agenda is determined by the secretariat in consultation with the President. Meetings are held based on a planning list prepared by the secretariat. In doing so, members indicate where the priorities will be. Each meeting also considers the list of notifications, advices, proposals and awareness activities. All documents are accompanied by an advice prepared by the secretariat regarding the admissibility of a notification or request, as well as further handling for decision-making by the Integrity Chamber.

The ideal candidate is of impeccable character and can contribute to the mission of the Integrity Chamber. Has extensive experience in management or supervisory positions. Has an affinity with the culture on Sint Maarten and understands the interests involved. Understands the decision-making and governance structure in Sint Maarten, and preferably also in The Hague. Is an independent thinker. Stands firmly on his/her feet and is steadfast. Forms a unit with the other members. Is cooperative. Makes contact easily. Is respectful. Creates trust. Has a keen eye for communication.
