Mienke, born in Rotterdam, studied art history and archaeology in Leiden and Amsterdam. From 1981 she worked for 15 years in various positions at Elsevier-Bonaventura (now Reed Business Information/RELX). In recent years she was responsible for the business magazines as publisher. She then worked for a number of years at the Netherlands Broadcasting Production Company (NOB) as the person ultimately responsible for all television facilities. Since 1998 she has been the director-owner of Metaplan Consultants, a renowned executive search agency. In addition, Mienke Schaberg holds various management positions of varying nature.
