crmLiNK has a special bond with the islands in the Caribbean Netherlands. In recent years, several colleagues who are now connected to us have provided various courses, events and training about good governance. These activities are continued in LiNKCaribbean. Our goal is to contribute to the education and professionalization of senior management and supervisory boards on Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, the islands of the Caribbean Netherlands and in Suriname.

In 2019 we conducted a research project, commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, into the structure, operation of the management and supervision of government owned companies on Bonaire. 

Education

We offer various programs in close cooperation with our partners in the Caribbean. From intensive learning trajectories for the novice supervisor to short courses with current topics for the more experienced professional. In addition to our regular programs, we provide tailor-made courses and educational activities. We use the experiences gained in recent years to better match the needs of the different target groups. As a rule, we work in small groups, with mixed backgrounds of the participants. Group dynamics and the right planning are important aspects for building positive and effective groups. The work form is interactive: growth of and personal attention for participants is paramount. In our approach and content, the small scale, complexity and sensitivities of and in an island culture are taken into account.

Our team

LiNKCaribbean has an interesting and professional team of highly qualified teachers who provide the lectures and training. For the most part this team consists of local experts from different countries. These teachers are experienced supervisors and are well acquainted with local casuistry. They know the dilemmas and best practices like no other. The team is supplemented by colleagues from the Netherlands who teach at the crmLiNK training institute. With this expertise in combination with local networks and experts, we aim for continuous professional development (Permanent Education) of supervisory and non-executive boards and corporate governance as a whole on the islands.

Because of this combined input, participants get 'the best of both worlds'.
