'The Art of Chairing', structured in a blended format, includes interactive learning, engaging you in meaningful discussions with other high-caliber executives and top-class lecturers. It provides an update on governance developments and encourages you to reflect on your own knowledge and skills. You will gain practical experience to refine your meeting leadership skills, while we zoom in on your personal effectiveness. Each session is led by esteemed supervisory board members with extensive experience as chair.

I. GOVERNANCE RECAP - Mariëlle Rompa
The first session will update you on the latest legal and ethical governance requirements, focusing on the Caribbean and the insular context. Next, you will delve into specific responsibilities and the crucial role of the chair. The session concludes by offering workable methods and best practices for effectively monitoring and supervising internal organizational processes, providing a holistic view of corporate governance to ensure balanced and sustainable oversight. 

II. DILEMMAS - Clifton Wallé
Following the theoretical introduction, this session revisits core governance concepts, bringing them into practice through case studies and corresponding dilemmas. Complex real-life situations that you will need to navigate are systematically analyzed and discussed. Utilizing practical experiences and reflective thinking, this session will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the complex interactions within meetings and the essential function of effective leadership. 

III. REFLECTION - Carla Aalse
The third and final session will sharpen your personal effectiveness focusing on courage, common sense, and integrity. You will face a simulated boardroom crisis, testing your role as chair and allowing you to navigate ethical dilemmas. Emphasizing behavior over content, this proven interactive format ensures a dynamic and engaging learning experience that promotes your personal growth and development.

In spring 2025, you are invited to join one of two exclusive post-masterclass sessions. These twohour reflective sessions offer an opportunity for small group discussions, focusing on challenges and questions you faced as a chairperson after completing the masterclass.
